Day of Hungarian Poetry

Szigligeti Theatre celebrated this year's Day of Hungarian Poetry in quite an unusual manner. On the 11^th of April, actors of Szigligeti Company gave phonecalls to season ticket owners, and recited their favourite poems over the telephone.

The Poetry Day “phone service” is part of the theatre's campaign aiming to offer theatre experiences to our audience and online followers during the pandemic while respecting social distancing measures imposed by the government. This time, instead of an online celebration, we chose to reach out to elderly season ticket owners and theatre friends who may not have easy access to the internet.

All those who have not yet provided us with their phone number, yet wish to take part in the surprise campaign, are kindly asked to do so on the theatre's Facebook page.

At the same time, Szigligeti Theatre continues its campaign #stayhomewatchtheatre on its online platforms, which, besides video recordings of earlier, successful shows, will soon include video interviews as well.
