Folk Dances, Passion Play on the Fourth Day of IDF

The fourth day of Infinite Dance Festival opened with a performance by Oradea Live, continued with a show presented by Bartók Dance Theatre Dunaújváros, and ended with a first performance of Nagyvárad Ensemble.

Thursday started with a performance created and presented by the young authors of Oradea Live and some members of Nagyvárad Ensemble. The event took place in the G building of Oradea Fortress, featuring texts written by three authors of the movement, Ozsváth Zsuzsa, Kemenes Henriette and Biró Árpád Levente, with Dombi Dávid on the piano, and dancers Szabó Mercédesz, Szabó Enikő Ágnes, Kerekes Dalma, Joó Renáta and Schmidt Nándor, as well as actor Dimény Levente.  The event took place as part of the program Gyújtópont 2018 by Oradea Live, sponsored by Bethlen Gábor Fund.

The series of big stage performances continued with Bartók Dance Theatre Dunaújváros, performing in the city for the very first time. Terminal, choreographed by Vári Bertalan, presents the cultural diversity of a group of people from different countries who are stuck in the terminal of a fictional airport. The performance features, among many others, Irish, Gypsy and Jewish dances, along with some styles of global pop culture.

On the fourth day of the festival, Nagyvárad Ensemble presented a dance theatre passion play. The studio performance based on the short story The Gospel According to Mark by Jorge Luis Borges is directed and choreographed by Györfi Csaba, and features music composed by Boross Csaba. The show features dancers Brugós Sándor Csaba, Tőkés Imola and Kacsó Bálint, its music is played by the orchestra of Nagyvárad Ensemble.

On Friday, choreographer Grecsó Zoltán presents his new show Stuttering Symphony. The evening continued with the open-air premiere of Sea of Nations by Nagyvárad Ensemble, as well as the Gala of Academies, where students of the Hungarian Dance Academy and the University of Arts Târgu Mureș took the stage.

The weekend of Infinite Dance Festival will continue with Need of Air by Ziggurat Project, Labyrinth and Mesh by Duda Éva Company, the ballet The Awakening Body by the Hungarian Opera of Cluj-Napoca, and the performance Counterbody by the Bucharest National Centre of Dance.
