Mini Season in a Week!

The three companies of Szigligeti Theatre will perform 11 shows during the traditional Mini Season, between 29 May and 3 June. Besides replaying all the shows that had their premiere in the season of 2017/2018, there will be meet-and-greets, a concert, and an awards ceremony.

The end-of-season event will be opened on 29 May, at 5 pm, by our New Year's Eve premiere, Quarantine in the Grand Hotel, a thrilling musical comedy featuring 16 actors, 12 extras, as well as a 7-member orchestra.

On 30 May, at 4 pm, Nagyvárad Ensemble performs Nobody's Bird, a multiart performance complete with dance, several styles of music, poetry, and visual art.

After many performances out of town, Goalpost and Own-goal returns to the Oradea stage on 30 May, at 8 pm. The show presents an extraordinary love story and the final days of a young boy.

On the third day of the Mini Season, 31 May, Lilliput Company presents two shows for children. At 11 am, Poor Johnny and Arnica, whereas at 1 pm, The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde. On that same day, at 7 pm, Kakuk Marci returns to the stage,

On the first of June at 5 pm, audiences are invited to see the dance performance Blind Spot, and at 7 pm, Three Nights of Love, in honour of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Oradea-born playwright Hubay Miklós.

For Children's Day, the smallest audience members are invited to the musical VANmeSE, on the 2nd of June, at 5 pm. Afterwards, at 7 pm, Tango by Sławomir Mrożek will analyze the most important generational conflicts.

The last show of the Mini Season is The Caucasian Chalk Circle, written by Betrolt Brecht, and invited to this year's edition of the National Theatre Festival in Pécs. After the show, the season's traditional awards ceremony will take place.

Each performance will be followed by a discussion with the audience. On the 29th of May, at 8 pm, on the 30th, at 9.30 pm, on the 31st of May and the 2nd of June on 10 pm, the shows' creators and invited critics will meet the audience at Szigligeti Studio.
