Premiere and Results Announcement in Szigligeti Theatre

On Friday 31 March, following the premiere of GoldenHour, a very special theatre literature class, the results of the contest titled Istók the Fool – from Salonta to Margaret Island, launched by Szigligeti Theatre last November, were announced.

“Preparing for the bicentenary of poet János Arany, last November, we have announced a contest for university students and teachers, asking contestants to rethink the life and work of the greatest Hungarian epic poet. Unfortunately, we only received three applications, which I have read, along with director Iván Hargitay, and several colleagues at the theatre” – said Szigligeti Company's art director Eszter Novák. She added: “Because none of the applications that we received met the announced contest requirements, we decided to award the script that has inspired this creative process the most.”

The authors of the winning application titled Golden Hour were Hungarian teacher Enikő Lőrincz, history teacher Mónika Kémenes, and AIE (Art In Education) teacher Andrea Búzási. The authors of the other two applications, TIE (Theatre In Education) teacher Anita Patonay (Budapest), and students Andrea Hatos and Kinga Kénesi (Cluj) were rewarded with season tickets for Szigligeti Theatre.
