Szigligeti Theatre's New Season Schedule Announced

Wednesday the 26th of August, Szigligeti Theatre announced its new season's schedule at a press conference. For the season of 2015/2016, the theatre's 3 companies are preparing 15 performances, several guest plays and additional events for their audience.

At the beginning of the press conference, general director Katalin Czvikker gave an account of the most important developments. In September, the new Szigligeti Studio was officially inaugurated. “We are very proud of the studio, because it is the result of a community collaboration. For it, we needed the approval of the County Council, but it couldn't have been put into practice without contrubution from our supporters and audience members.”

Eszter Novák, the new art director of Szigligeti Company said: “I accepted the invitation by the general director and the actors because I have discoveres an amazing opennes and curiosity from the company's members.” This year, a new actor is joining the team: Attila Balogh has already directed a play for Oradea audiences last year. Eszter Novák has also said that she wishes to give a chance to as many new talents as possible. “My aim is to create a diverse season, and speak to as many categories as possible. I believe that theatre is one of the few community places where we can think together, be together – this is why Your Theatre! became the season's motto” – the art director added. In the new season, beside our traditional season tickets, this year, we introduce a new student season ticket, and three types of free season tickets, for the owners of which the date and location of the show will be optional.

Réka Botházy-Daróczi presented Lilliput Company's plans for the new season. The puppet theatre company is preparing four performances, all of them covering exciting problems like sibling jealousy, acceptance, relationships and adapting to new curcumstances. The art director said she would like to offer a real family experience, thus, related to each show, discussions will take place on the given topic, involving parents and experts.

“The last three seasons of Nagyvárad Ensemble have been about a search for our own identity. We feel that this season, we have come much closer to theatre, as well as our own goals. In our schedule, you will find important titles from world literature, put to the stage by great artists who, with a youthful elan, can encourage the company to continue what they have started to build” – Levente Dimény, the dance company's art director declared.

Season tickets will be for sale from the 27th of August, at tour booking office, open Monday to Friday am – 5 pm.
