Press Conference – Focus on Lilliput Company

Tuesday morning, Szigligeti Theatre was the host of a press conference. General director Katalin Czvikker talked about last year's achievements, the most important one being that the theatre company won first prize at the Kisvárda Hungarian Theatre Festival, for their play Our Class. Szigligeti Studio is about to be opened, and according to newest statistics, this year, Szigligeti Company had 10% larger audience than the year before.

 

Lilliput Summer

 

Lilliput Company's new art director, Réka Botházy-Daróczi announced the puppet theatre's summer programme. In August, the company will take part in the Puppet Theatre Camp in Esztergom, and plans to organize a similar event in Oradea. This year, there will be another casting for a children's musical, directed by Tünde Tóth, also in August. In the second half of August, there will be a puppet theatre camp for children who have taken part in Szigligeti School, or our youth performances.

Lilliput Company will also participate in Szent László Family Days, with several activities for children. FUX Festival will be organized in the programme of Autumn in Oradea.

 

A New Course in Szigligeti School

 

Szigligeti School starts a course for teachers. Anikó Oláh, the course's leader said that the aim is to make puppet play known as a means of kindergarten and school teaching. The use of puppets helps develop imagination, linguistic skills, and also contributes to helping speech impediments, whil bringing art closer to children. The courses will take place on Saturdays, participation fee is 50 RON/month.
