DráMÁzat II. – Book Launch at the Mini Season

Friday, we have launched the volume dráMÁzat II in the theatre's foyer. The book contains the best works sent in for the drama contest organized by Szigligeti Theatre Oradea, Tg. Mures University of Arts – Hungarian Institute, and Tomcsa Sándor Theatre. The event was opened by Eszter Novák, Szigligeti Company's new art director, and general director Katalin Czvikker. Eszter Novák, Kata Demeter, art secretary of Tomcsa Sándor Theatre, and the winner of the drama contest in the category Debut, Tímea-Aletta Szíjártó talked about the contest and the volume itself. “There was quite a lot of work with it” – Kata Demeter said. Her claims are perfectly demonstrated by just the cold data alone: only for the category Debut, 82 applications were received, whereas for dráMAíró and dramAutor, 35 each, all evaluated by three separate juries. To find a director for the winning drama, there was a separate contest, won by Sardar Tagirovsky, out of two contestants. Consulent dramaturgist for the play will be Péter Kárpáti, and according to plan, the dancers and orchestra of Nagyvárad Ensemble will also be featured in the play, along with choreographer Csaba Györfi. The play is scheduled to premiere at the beginning of the next season.

After the presentation, contest winner Tímea-Aletta Szíjártó talked about herself. She has a degree as an actress, but is now working as a preschool teacher. “This is my big moment” - she declared. She told us that it was her sister who drew her attention to the contest, her work is the drama of missed opportunities, and the creative process was greatly helped by her child, dark chocolate and coffee.

The winning drama The Case, and the other best works are found in the volume, for sale at the theatre's booking office, and also about to hit libraries.
