250 Years Since the Birth of József Sándorffi

Yesterday afternoon, Szigligeti Theatre's first floor foyer hosted a commemorative event: patron-presbiter József Sándorffi was born 250 years ago. Beside his activity as a doctor, a poet and a translator, he still had time for music, popular science and theatre. In her opening speech, general director Katalin Czvikker talked about his theatrical activity, whereas pastor Attila Veres-Kovács – the event's host – presented his life work as a medical doctor, ecclesiastic person, and literateur. For the event, actors of Szigligeti Company prepared a public reading presenting the poetry of József Sándorffi.
