Our Drama Contest Has Ended

A press conference related to the drama contest called dráMÁzat took place at the Tg. Mureş University of Arts. The conference was held by Czvikker Katalin, manager of Szigligeti Theatre Oradea, Nagy Pál, manager of Tomcsa Sándor Theatre Odorheiu Secuiesc,andKós Anna, dean of the University of Arts.

Members of the jury were: playwright Kárpáti Péter, directors Novák Eszter and Eugen Făt, theatre critics Iulia Popovici, Szűcs-Katalin Ágnes, and Köllő Kata, Fazakas Márta, dramaturgist of Szigligeti Theatre, dramaturgist Lőkös Ildikó, theatrology professors Ungvári-Zrínyi Ildikó, Albert Mária, and Csép Zoltán, and Csurulya Csongor, Demeter Kata, and Nagy Pál, Tomcsa Sándor Theatre's art director, dramaturgist and director, respectively.
At this year's contest, we received a total of 152 applications, mostly from Hungary and Romania, but also from the Ucraine, Slovakia, and Great Britain.

For the category Debut, we have received 82 Hungarian-language dramas from previously unpublished authors. The winner will be put to the stage of Szigligeti Theatre. First place was won by The Case by Szíjártó Tímea-Aletta, second place by Butchers by Szabó Róbert Csaba, and the third spot was awarded to Hollós Péter for Greetings from Tanzania.

For the category dráMAíró, we have received 35 Hungarian-language, previously unpublished dramas from authors who have published other works before. The first place was awarded to Szmodis Jenő for Ultimatum, the second place was divided between Almássy Bettina for Family Al-Boom, and Izsó Zita and Izsó Nóra for Elder. Tasnádi-Sáhy Péter's Double Celebration won third place.

For the category draMAutor, 35, prevously unpublished and unpresented Romanian-language dramas were sent in. The winner was Laurenţiu Budău with The Apocalypse Comes From Facebook, whereas the second prize was awarded to Radu Popescu for his drama I Write: Romania!
