Csaba Székely’s bilingual, powerful satire reveals the absurdities of Hungarian–Romanian coexistence through a series of grotesque scenes. Our history, identities, cultural differences and stubborn prejudices become, at once, a source of liberating laughter and painful recognition.

The title is formed from the first syllables of the Hungarian and Romanian words, aptly evoking a world in which shared history, grievances and humour are inseparably intertwined.
