Steaming

drama

Translated by:: András Török

British author and playwright Nell Dunn was born in London in 1936. Her first major success came with the 1963 novel titled Up the Junction, however, it was her 1981 stage play, Steaming, that brought her widespread acclaim. The play won several awards and was later adapted into a film.

Nell Dunn's drama occurs in an intimate setting, a public bath, where we are given a glimpse into the lives of six women from different social backgrounds. The play is a combination of outspokenness and honesty, grim reality and humour.

Recommended for persons aged 18 and over.
