Black Peter

musical play

Translated by::

Black Peter is an operetta, so, true to its genre, it cannot be about anything other than love triumphing over the brokers of the materialistic world.

During the Great Depression, a handsome man of the world accidentally stumbles upon Black Peter, the world's biggest dupe, whose very person is a disaster. Whatever the title character touches, it collapses - so it seems a profitable investment to set up a limited company to take the fall for the dupe's misfortune. The business takes off, only to be interrupted by love: the dashing gentleman and the loser both meet a woman out of their world. Legendary evergreens punctuate the thrilling love chase, while the finale sees the most surprising of couples clasping hands.

The music of Black Peter was written by Eismemann Mihály, a legendary Hungarian hitmaker of the turn of the century, whose best-known evergreens will be played during the performance: my little Black Peter brother, you little clumsy..., On a moonlit night, you'll be mine too... Everything comes together to make for a light, entertaining and unforgettable evening with Black Peter.
