The collections of Zoltán Kallós remain living sources of folk dance and folk music to this day. For decades, amateur and professional ensembles alike have drawn from his unparalleled legacy — whether for authentic performances or dance-theatre productions.

It would be impossible to evoke the full richness of this immeasurable heritage in a single performance. The creators therefore do not seek completeness, but instead select from the dance, music and singing collections that were especially dear to Uncle Zoli. They invite us on a personal journey woven through conversations recorded with tradition bearers, as well as the voices of ballads, love songs and laments.

What was once gathered along Zoltán Kallós’s journeys continues to live on today in songs, dances and memory. On the 100th anniversary of his birth, this performance brings that living heritage to life once again.
