Lets Have Fun Together!

A cheerful musical cabaret in two parts

Translated by::

As per tradition, the cheerful musical cabaret was prepared for New Year’s Eve, bringing the entire theatre ensemble back to the stage. Brilliant sketches, quick-witted gags, and humorous monologues by Frigyes Karinthy, Jenő Herczeg, and Miklós Lőrincz are interwoven with lively song medleys. This time, the performance takes the audience on a musical journey through different world cities—Bucharest, Rome, Budapest, Vienna, Havana, Paris, and Moscow—each providing the perfect backdrop for selecting and presenting famous songs, popular melodies, and vibrant stage performances, elevated by the addition of beautiful dances, passionate movements, and outstanding choreography. The title perfectly captured the intention of both the directors and the performers: the stage and audience truly celebrated together, not just to welcome the New Year but for many months afterward.

"…the Hungarian ensemble of the Nagyvárad Theatre is coming! On January 20th, they will perform their two-part cheerful cabaret ‘Let’s Have Fun Together!’ twice at the Arad Theatre… The program promises to be exceptionally entertaining. The musical ‘tour’ through Bucharest, Rome, Budapest, Vienna, Havana, Paris, and Moscow sweeps the audience away on a ‘world trip’ through song and dance. Along the way, witty skits and monologues add to the joy, and finally, ‘Disco ’86’ ensures the entire show remains engaging and entertaining. And beyond all this, there is something else—something not written on the posters or in the program booklet. It’s called the ‘spirit of Várad.’” (István Mózer, Vörös Lobogó)
