On the hottest day of the year, twelve jurors retire to a jury room to deliberate and reach a verdict in the case of a young boy accused of murdering his father. The stakes are enormous: a human life hangs in the balance.

The verdict must be unanimous. Yet the twelve jurors come from different social backgrounds: different life stories, experiences, worldviews and prejudices converge around the same table.

As the debate grows increasingly heated, the prejudices, personal grievances and fears lurking behind the arguments gradually come to the surface, and the room slowly transforms into a laboratory of democracy, truth and human responsibility.

Directed by Vladimir Anton, the story takes on a particular relevance today. In a world of instant opinions, comment sections and virtual debates, 12 Angry Men reminds us how difficult – and how essential – it is to step outside our opinion bubbles, truly encounter one another and engage in dialogue.

Reginald Rose’s iconic drama explores the fragile nature of truth, prejudice and collective decision-making. At its heart lies a question that may be more important than ever today: Are we truly capable of listening to one another before passing judgment?
