Ibolya Csíky – on the Greatest Stage

She dedicated her whole life to her family and her job – both on the highest level imaginable. She radiated joy, spirit, responsibility, dedication and love towards us and her audience. A love for life. Some weeks ago, at a rehearsal, those of us who were lucky enough to hear her recite some poems by János Arany were rolling with laughter. Some days ago, in a moment of unexpected strength, with a mischievous smile on her face, she procuced a ledge from her bed – a piece of the healing stage of her theatre that meant everything to her. Some hours ago we still couldt, wouldn't imagine it was possible that we'd have to live without her. Ibolya Csíky passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, to continue among the great ones, on the greatest stage. Now she is smiling down on us from there. We can't smile yet, because it hurts very much. Very much.

Her family, colleagues and friends will say their final farewell to her on Saturday, 25 March, at 10 am, in Szigligeti Theatre. Funeral services will begin at 12, at the Steinberger chapel of Rulikowski Cemetery.
