Enikő Fábián Has Recieved an Award

On the 22nd of January, Day of Hungarian Culture, Szigligeti Theatre was the venue of an award ceremony, where Hungarian Culture Plaquettes, Hungarian Culture Prizes, Lifetime Achievement Awards and Jakobovits Miklós prizes were awarded. At the event, actress of Szigligeti Company, Enikő Fábián, received a Hungarian Culture Prize.

A laudatio was spoken by Géza Hajdu. Below, an excerpt from his speech.

Enikő Fábián first appeared in front of Oradea audiences in February 1982, in a drama by Áron Tamási. The young actress captured the audience's hearts, attracting many who didn't normally go to the theatre to come and see the play. It is no accident that from this moment on, her carreer was a series of successes. She dominated the local stage in the 1980-s and '90-s. She played the most important roles of Hungarian and universal literature, at a high artistic quality, with an amazing dedication and involvement. She was especially great in dramatic roles, but no less admirable in comedies and musicals. Her roles remain in the memory of audiences not only in Oradea, but also the whole county, and all of Transylvania.

Beside her hard roles that required great talent, she still had the energy to make individual performances that she took to all Transylvania and abroad. She was in America twice, bringing along Hungarian culture with her. In 2004, she was awarded the greatest prize for Transylvanian culture, the Poór Lili award.

This is the summary of the 35-year carreer of a hard-working and talented actress. All of this she has done consiously, for Hungarian culture!

We wish Enikő Fábián to bring us ever more roles, for everyone's pleasure.

Congratulations on the well-deserved award!
