The CsárdásPrincess (Csárdáskirálynő) at Oradea

The company of the Hungarian Opera of Cluj-Napoca presents Emmerich Kálmán’s operetta entitled The CsárdásPrincess at the Szigligeti Theatre on December 5th, at 6 p.m. The conductor of the most often played Hungarian operetta of all times is Szabolcs Kulcsár, and it is directed by György Selmeczi. Péter Demény wrote: “György Selmeczi has managed to do everything that can only be the result of a proper attitude towards tradition. A new operetta was born, which draws on the previous adaptations and at some places on the performance of the predecessors but without falling under the suspicion of epigonism.” Contemporary critics wrote about the sensational music: “Kálmán in The CsárdásPrincess was able to combine Viennese Waltz with the enchanting, temperamental Hungarian music. The exquisite melodies not only ensure popularity but they provide a real musical experience…”

Tickets can only be bought at the box office of the theatre, from Tuesday to Friday between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Ticket prices vary: center boxes - 60 RON, side boxes – 50 RON, orchestra – 30 RON, balcony – 20 RON.
