Gianina Cãrbunariu
Mady-baby
A solo performance by Borbély B. Emília.
A production of the Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre in Timișoara.
"Home… I am not at home. I am not at home here either. But I am not at home there either. I am not at home at my other home, and I am not at home here. I will never be at home—neither here nor there."
(Mady)
In this interpretation, Mady’s story is one of resurrection—a journey woven around the ideas of goodness and sin, descent and redemption, selfishness and sacrifice.
In our desensitised and indifferent world, Mady’s flesh-and-blood reality stands as a living testament to selfless love—something we can still encounter in everyday life - if we pay attention. In public squares and passageways, on buses and in shopping centres, by the roadside and in hospitals, in others and within ourselves.
Synopsis translated by: Gellért Farkas.
