Yvette Bozsik’s show is on tour in Oradea

The company of Figura Studio Theater of Gheorgheni is on tour in the Oradean Szigligeti Theatre, on Wednesday, the 6th of June, at 7 p.m. with a performance entitled: The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other. The production is directed and choreographed by the internationally renowned dancer-choreographer Yvette Bozsik, based on the work of the Austrian novelist and playwright Peter Handke. Tickets can be bought at the box office of the theatre from Tuesday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and an hour before the performances.

In the absurd performance without text many types of characters are played by dancers and actors, we can see the crowd of ordinary people from the streets and the squares. The actions on the stage are followed, preceded or simultaneously accompanied by the projected scenes of a film, which takes place at the main square of Gheorgheni and its close vicinity in the style of a burlesque silent film. The performance uses the alternation of lyrical, humorous and grotesque scenes and employs minimal setting and props. It talks about the relation between human relationships and loneliness based on the stage presence of the actors and the expressiveness of the movements. The performance is the joint performance of Figura Studio Theater of Gheorgheni and Dance Workshop of Odorheiu Secuiesc.

Yvette Bozsik, the director-choreographer of the performance is a Kossuth Prize winner ballet dancer and choreographer. Her own company, the Bozsik Yvette Company is an internationally renowned contemporary dance company. Her interests range from dance to theatre and film. She has individual directions and played leading roles as well. She has worked together with famous artists like: Iván Fischer, Péter Halász, John Lurie, Diamanda Gallas and Anton Adasszinszkij.
