Brecht's Classic Returns to Oradea Stage

Bertolt Brecht's classic drama The Caucasian Chalk Circle returns to the Oradea stage. The play, presented with great success last November, has since been on numerous tours in Romania and Hungary, and on 20 February, at 7 PM, will be played once more on the stage of Szigligeti Theatre.

At the centre of the play, stands the story of Gruse the maid, who, amidst the civil war, saves the governor's son, and raises him as her own. The action reflects the biblical parable of Solomon, proclaiming the victory of love and goodness over cruelty. The play by Bertolt Brecht and Paul Dessau was put to the Oradea stage by director Anca Bradu.

At the 20 February performance, a delegation of the Theatre Critics' Guild of Hungary and the selection committee of the Romanian Theatre Union will also be present.

Tickets for the show are available at the theatre's booking office (open Monday to Friday 2—7 PM, or one hour before the start of the shows), and also online, at www.biletmaster.ro.
