Actress Ibolya Csíky has died

It is with deep sorrow that Szigligeti Theatre announces the passing of actress Ibolya Csíky, member of Szigligeti Company and a prominent personality of Transylvanian theatre, at the age of 72.

Ibolya Csíky first appeared in front of an audience on the studio stage of Cluj amateurs. From 1965, she studied at the Szentgyörgyi István Institute of Acting in Târgu Mureş. She graduated in 1969, and served the audiences of Oradea until her death. She was excellent in both comic and dramatic roles. As an acknowledgement for her work, she was awarded the Poór Lili and Szentgyörgyi István awards, and decorated with the Golden Cross of the Hungarian Republic.

Ibolya Csíky would have been 72 years old on the 9th of April.

Funeral arrangements will be made by her children, whereas Szigligeti Theatre will ensure a proper farewell.
