„We will have a very busy March. During the month of March, Szigligeti Company will play in Braşov, Baia Mare and Eger, Hungary, whereas Nagyvárad Ensemble is invited to Târgu Mureş, Sfântu Gheorghe and Bucharest, where they will perform at the Petőfi House, and also take part in Bucharest National Dance Centre's annual festival. “The event series at the beginning of Spring will be topped off by the last ever performance of our award-winning play Our Class on the 18th of March, our Open Day on the 27th, just in time for World Theatre Day, and a guest play by Tomcsa Sándor Theatre Odorheiu Secuiesc, titled Roberto Zucco” – the general director added.

Eszter Novák, Szigligeti Company's art director talked about the two performances being prepared for the Arany-anniversary. “It is a great honour for us to be ableto celebrate the 200th anniversary of poet János Arany's birth together with the people from his birthplace, Salonta. Citizens of this town will be the first to see our performance From Where to Where?, put to the stage with help from dramaturgist Péter Tasnádi-Sáhy and scenographer Florina Bellinda Vasilatos”. At the same time, on the 31st of March, Szigligeti Company will present an extraordinary literature class in Szigligeti Studio, directed by Iván Hargitai. At the premiere, results of our contest titled Istók the Fool – from Salonta to Margaret Island, launched in November, will be announced.

Attila Balogh talked about the 3 March premiere of Casting. The studio performance was preceded by a very special rehearsal process, during which artists had improvisation practices also in music and fine arts. The performance is aimed especially at high school and university students, and contains a lot of music, play and interactivity. The play's set designers, Előd Golicza and Evelin Hotykai are not unknown to local audiences, having had already worked with the company on The Seventh Stair and Three Sisters. Music for the play is composed by József Iszlai, whereas the lyrics have been written by the young authors of Oradea Live, Árpád Levente Biró and Evelin Jock.

On the 10th of March, at 7 pm, a big stage premiere by Nagyvárad Ensemble will take place, titled Barbarians. “Our lives lack true, pure attachment to our peers. We have long lost the ability to love and to respect each other the way our ancestors did. We have drifted too far from nature, and the lack of real, honest human emotions led to isolation. Inspired by our folcloric roots, and based on the aforementioned ideas, our performance tries to analyze a current problem, emphasizing the barbaric character of our society and ego” – director-choreographer Csaba Györfi says. Music for the performance is composed by Tibor Cári, set designer was Cristina Breteanu, while the video montage is made by Arnold Lungu. For the premiere, Szigligeti season tickets are valid.
