Inviting applications to direct the Debüt-award winning drama

Szigligeti Theater Oradea, Tomcsa Sándor Theatre Odorheiu Secuiesc and the  Tg. MureşUniversity of Arts have previously announced its drama contest titled dráMÁzat III.
In the category Debüt, we expected dramas written in Hungarian, previously unpublished and never presented on the stage, without any constraint of subject matter or genre.
Szigligeti Theater and the  Tg. MureşUniversity of Artsare now announcing a new contest, this time to direct the winning application. According to plan, the play will be presented in the season of 2017/2018. Estimated budget is 40 thousand RON.
The contest is open for students and graduates from the last five years of  the Tg. MureşUniversity of Arts, faculty of stage direction.
Please apply with a directorial concept, sent in written form to the office of Szigligeti Theatre (palyazat@szigligeti.ro , or by traditional mail: 410021 Oradea, Piata Regele Ferdinand I., nr.6 – “în atenția secretariatului artistic Teatrul Szigligeti”).
Aspects to consider when applying:
1. Describe the plot in one page! Of course, we're not interested in the simple fact that you have read the drama and are capable of retelling the sequence of events, but rather in the way you interpret it: where you start the story, who will be your main characters, where the plot's most important moments or twists are, where the plot is going.
2. Direct the play in your head! Plan the space! Decide what the stage will look like, how the set will be. (Of course you can consult a designer). Make a sketch, a layout about this space! Maybe collect some pictures that suggest the spirit of this imaginary play. You can search for pghotographs that resemble the characters that you have imagined.
3. Write about the imaginay play in 3—4 pages. What would it be like? Your vision should be based on the drama's analysis, and speak about the things that are most important to you, the world you have chosen, the characters and relationships between them, changes that you eventually made, the main goal of the play.
