The Case at the Kisvárda Festival

The XXVIII. Festival of Ethnic Hungarian Theatre in Kisvárda will take place 17—25th of July. After last year's great success with Our Class, Szigligeti Company will participate in the prestigious festival of ethnic Hungarian theatres with the contemporary drama The Case.

In 2015, The Case won the Debut Award at the drama contest organized by Szigligeti Theatre,  Tomcsa Sándor Theatre and  Marosvásárhely University of Arts. The play, written by Szíjártó Tímea Aletta about everyday heroes, premiered last year, on the Day of Hungarian Drama, directed by  Sardar Tagirovsky. After its initial success, it was played at several other festivals, and now it will be presented in front of the jury consisting of  actors Hámori Gabriella and Gáspár Tibor, TV editor Kántor Viola, critic Kovács Dezső and theatrical writer Török Ákos.

The event's public and theatre professoinals will be able to view more than two dozen plays at this year's edition. Besides the official contest, there will be several other events related to the festival, suck as the book launch of Szabó József Ódzsa's autobiographic volume, edited by Szigligeti Theatre, which will take place on the 25th of June.
