Young Talents on the Stage of Infinite Dance Festival

On October 22, Infinite Dance Festival welcomed its audience with a variety of performances. The second day of the event saw performers from the Klári Pataky Company, Létra Cultural Association, and Contemporary Creative Dreamers set the stage.

The first performance, A little night blindness, was played in Szigligeti Studio. The contemporary dance- and movement theatre performance by the young dancers of the Klári Pataky Company was previously described by critic Csaba Králl as “consisting of densely layered, choppy yet intricately constructed broken movements, that constantly balance between abstraction and sensual expression”.

In the first part of the evening’s performance, the cast of Awakening took to the main stage. The performance, consisting of acrobatic movements and simple magic tricks, pits two worlds – the real and the imaginary – against each other, while the performers retell, in their poetic language, the conflict between light and dark through nonverbal means.

The second part of the programme will feature a production by Contemporary Creative Dreamers, a young independent team from Bucharest. The university workshop turned independent performance, Nihil Sine Deo places the human body into the focus of attention: the dramaturgy of the performance, alternating between a series of movements requiring great strength and subtle gestures, highlight the relationship between the physical and the divine.

The event continues on Friday, October 23 with Réka Oberfrank’s studio production AfterEverAfter, followed by the performances of Éva Duda company of European significance and Pál Frenák company in the main auditorium of Szigligeti Theatre,, starting from 19:00.
