Carnations and Roses

GG Tánc Eger, the contemporary dance department of Gárdonyi Géza Theatre from Eger, Hungary, returns to Szigligeti Studio on 12 June. The company led by Tamás Topolánszky has visited Oradea many times before.

Their performance Carnations and Roses is directed by Brazilian-born choreographer Clébio Oliveira, who is currently living in Germany. He has studied in Rio de Janeiro, where he then lived and worked for over 10 years. He came to Germany as a choreographer and contemporary dancer, to the invitation of the Kiel Ballet. Since then, he has been living and working in Europe (currently, in Berlin).

Oliveria’s subject of choice is love - the one emotion that has been the mainspring of human thinking, and has played a defining part in ancient mythologies, religions, philosophies and arts. The subject matter will be, in this instance, analyzed from a mental point of view.

What happens in our minds when we are in love? What is the type of the relationship between body and brain?

How can this emotion be described more realistically? How do our brains behave when faced with passion?

GG Tánc Eger’s performance seeks answers to these questions on 12 June, at 8 pm in Szigligeti Studio. Tickets are available at Szigligeti Theatre’s booking office as well as at www.biletmaster.ro.
