Stabat Mater

Nagyvárad Ensemble's dance oratorio Stabat Mater, created in collaboration with Central European Dance Theatre (KET), will have its premiere on the 16th of April. Rehearsals of the performance are already going on. Gionacchino Rossini's oratorio, composed for four soloists, mixed choir and orchestra will be reborn thanks to the two company's artists, directed by Kun Attila.

“Stabat Mater Dolorosa is Christianity's most tearful liturgy. A poem that not only observes the pain of losing a beloved child, but also shares that pain. To share the pain, the suffering, to commiserate with the person in pain – I think this is the most pertinent message we could have ever found in the 21st century” – says director-choreographer Kun Attila, art director of KET since 2013, choreographer and dancer, winner of the Harangozó Gyula and Imre Zoltán awards.
