A young dancer in Oradea

On the 26th of August 2021. Zsuzsa Rózsavölgyi had a guest appearance on the Árkádia stage with her performance entitled Anyai örökség (Maternal Heritage).

Dancer and choreographer Zsuzsa Rózsavölgyi has studied at the P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels, then becoming a member of the Rosas Dance Ensemble. While obtaining a Human Kinesiology diploma from the Univerity of Physical Education, she also studied dance and dance pedagogy at the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy. On her art projects that have several times been nominated to the Lábán Award, she works in cooperation with fine artists, musicians, and scientists. At the moment, she is a docent in the Contemporary Dance Department of the Oslo National Academy of Arts.

The performance Anyai Örökség (Maternal Heritage) attempts to point out for the audience that humans are only one of the species on this planet and that we have more in common with other inhabitants of our planet that we would admit. A special feature of the performance was that Zsuzsa involved the audience, as her way of expression wasn’t limited to dance only. Speaking and singing also played a significant role.

The performance was created with the support of the National Cultural Fund.
