Katalin L?rinc Is Back in Oradea

Nagyvárad Ensemble is organizing a continuation course led by dancer-choreographer Katalin L?rinc, journalist, winner of the Harangozó Gyula Award, professor of the Department of Modern Dance at the Hungarian Dance Academy. Earlier, she was our guest at last Autumn's Infinite Dance Festival, where she held a course titled The Movement that Starts from the Centre of the Body for dancers of Nagyvárad Ensemble, and anyone interested in contemporary dance. Her method is based on the technique by Martha Graham. She believes that the quality of the movement that starts from the body's centre is defined by our emotional state, whereas its power is determined by our breathing. In this technique, tension, impulse and disengagement is put into form. This time, she is working to expand our dancers' knowledge, again using the Graham method. The workshop is a part of the creative process aiming to prepare our performance Barbarians, scheduled to premiere in March. The course is supported by the Hungarian Ministry of Human Resouces.
