“There are many and more kinds of theatre. There's the theatre that carresses with an aesthetic and moral grace – the world can crumble, some might pour Coca-Cola into a Pepsi bottle, but you, you are in a good place, you're OK, it says –, and there's the kind that squirts all your filth right into your face, so that you don't know whether to drink it or eat it. Klára Pataky has always been a master of the fine movements of the soul (lately, mainly the female soul), her works come from a place where the most intimate thoughts, desires, dreams and fears cast the most delicate ripples on the human body.

StillLife goes even further than that, beyond the biology of soul, looking in the direction of an imaginary origin, where humans already exist as woman and man, but their meeting is still just a possibility. It shows the depths with the harsh accuracy of an anatomist, still, with an artist's sensitivity, keeps it from ever looking back at us.

The power of StillLife lies in the fact that whether we read it as a love relationship, a beaching of the original connection between Man and Woman, or – beyond genders – a poetry of a world that instigates people against each other, not only does it help us see the lack that surrounds us, but also transmits the energy to find a way out.”
