9000 km – Advent stories

The aim of our play is to gather the folcloric drama scenes related to Advent, the period before Christmas, into a coherent dramaturgic unit. It is in fact a travel through time and space, during the course of which we will move through a series of rural communities preparing for Christmas, all the way to the Epiphany. Our audience will witness a ceremony of candle-lighting, love predictions, the counting of the calendar, drama scenes related to Christmas, and many other folcloric and religious rites.
As a source for our data, we have used information from many ethnographic regions. The sets and props are also authentic, so they represent the original accessories used for the customs.
